Dissemination Activities
SUMMARY:
The project mainly had a training course and follow-up activities. The training course took place on November 20-27 in Pissouri village of Limassol municipality, with 25 participants. After the following multiplier /awareness-raising activities were implemented:
- Four workshops were done by the participants in their schools on social rights and "Enter" recommendations. Up to 20 participants in each school took part
- Four times played the board game Dignity Land in two schools, up to 20 participants took part from each school in the game.
- Petition (signatures of 300 students) and meeting of 16 participants of the project with the mayor of Limassol.
ENTER Dignity Land Workshops: On January 18th & 19th 2024, our youth worker Evangelia Nikolaou visited four schools, G. Tesek, Laniteio, Lyceum Petrou kai Pavlou, and Lyceum Agiou Antoniou, as part of the 'Social Rights 4All' project. During these visits, we played the interactive game 'Enter Dignity Land' – a mock EU Parliament debate on social rights policies. It sparked discussions and arguments and brought social rights issues to life among students! In each follow-up session, around 20 people participated, whereas the 4 persons from each school who were present in the seminar had a facilitating role in explaining the game to their peers.
SOCIAL RIGHTS 4All - Visit to the Municipality: On Wednesday, February 7, 2024, students participating in the Social Rights 4All project, funded by the Council of Europe, had a meeting with the honourable Mayor of Limassol, Mr. Nikos Nicolaides. Four Junior Ambassadors from Agios Antonios Lyceum, as well as from Laniteio Lyceum, Apostolos Petros and Paulos Lyceum, and the 3rd Technical School of Limassol, presented their findings to Mr. Nicolaides and his team, making recommendations for improvement in areas such as Mass Transportation, Public Parks, and Youth Spaces. The children were accompanied by educators and representatives of the Acpelia NGO, the project coordinator.
